Cape York Caravan Storage | 20 Places to Leave Caravan Before Cape York

Last updated on 6 May, 2023

Are you planning your road trip to Cape York and need a spot to leave your caravan in storage while you make the epic trip? There are plenty of Cape York caravan storage options available, giving you the freedom to decide your route and how far up the Cape you would like to take your caravan.

Many travellers take their caravans up the Cape York Peninsula to the tip. Many do not. Not all caravans are suitable for regularly changing road conditions up to the top of the peninsula, or similarly when we trekked it out to the stunning Nhulunbuy. Also, those planning to do the Old Telegraph Track and other remote locations (usually) do not want to be towing a caravan.

Cheap and secure caravan storage options where you can leave your caravan safely and travel to the tip are listed below. For our epic dog friendly Cape York road trip, we left our caravan at the Peninsula Hotel in Laura just before the dirt road started.

Please note that all prices and conditions stated below were correct at the time of publication. If there are any changes, let me know. Also, all storage options listed below are outside and unpowered.
